What sets me apart: I am a classroom teacher, and have advanced training in teaching all populations and ages of students. In particular, I pride myself on my ability to personally connect with all of my students, as well as create a unique individualized tutoring curriculum for each of them. Currently, I am a Special Education student teacher at a high school in Chico, while still working on credential and Master's programs in Education at CSU, Chico. My love for helping children succeed and feel like they can be successful has taken me on an incredible journey that has made me realize how much I enjoy being a teacher and working with children. I have extensive experience as an English, Math, Social Studies and Special Education tutor, as well as a life coach (including organizational skills). I have several years of experience in the private tutoring business, ranging from middle school through the university level. I am the perfect fit for you or your child because I truly believe in every child. Each child is much more likely to make an effort to reach their potential and become the best they can be if they believe their trusted adults care about their future and success. Hobbies
- I deeply enjoy hobbies related to art/creativity. This includes writing stories, watching and analyzing movies/films, and listening to music from all eras and appreciating the unique nuances of each individual song and artist. - I also love to golf and have played the sport since a young age. Furthermore, I am an avid sports enthusiast. This is particularly apparent in regards to baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. - Politics and U.S. History/Government are strong passions of mine (though I am open-minded and just enjoy talking/debating with anyone about politics in a fun-spirited, civil manner). - Through my many years of experience as a tutor and my beginning years as a teacher, I have not yet had one student who I have not been able to connect with. I am easy-going, easily approachable, and a calm & positive presence for you or your children. I have been told I am particularly gifted at helping both university students and children become confident and believe in themselves.
