Education

Microbiology Major at CSU Chico with an emphasis in Clinical Laboratory Science. In addition, I'm also working on a minor in chemistry, and a minor in English. My pathway courses (required upper-division general education requirements) are all on gender and diversity. My overall GPA is 3.1, and my biology GPA is 3.3. My projected graduation date is May 2017. Aside from my courses, I'm an initiated member of Omicron, CSU Chico's biology honors society. I'm also active and heavily involved with the Microbiology club.

Experience

I've tutored 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders in science and math. Within these grades I've mentored students through science fair projects and have had students continue on the win regional fairs. I've led study groups in both community college and university biology and chemistry courses. I've taken almost all of the biology classes towards my major including: General Biology, Principles of Cellular and Molecular Biology, Principles of Evolutionary, Environmental and Organismal Biology, Principles of Physiology and Developmental Biology, Microbiology, Genetics and Hematology. I've taken all of my general and organic chemistry courses.

Hobbies

Outside of college courses, studying, and club activities I spend a lot of time doing various projects. I maintain a fish tank that is essentially a chemistry project on an entire ecosystem. I like to build and create things. I enjoy arts and crafts, and black and white photography. While not all of these things are science related, I'd like to believe it makes me a well-rounded person with interests that are relevant to the people around me, regardless of their academic studies.
